Upwords® is a family owned brand that utilizes the best organic cotton while maintaining a simple philosophy; make good stuff that’s good for people and good for the planet. Think that's a lot of "good"...well that's exactly how we at Upwords® want you to think. We are tired of the bad news, the negativity and half-empty mentality so we decided to print shirts that are, dare we say…positive! We want you to smile, to laugh, to think half-full. If we can do that with our apparel in an environmentally and socially responsible way then we have accomplished our goal. Speaking of goals here is what they are in a formal format other wise know in the corporate world as Mission Statements.


Upwords® Economic Mission Statement


To make as much money as possible, at any cost. Opps sorry about that had an identity crisis there, for a second thought we were Enron back from the dead. Regardless of what you heard in Wall Street greed is bad. However, that is the resounding message in corporate American and that’s the mentality that is going, or has got, us in trouble. Our goal is to operate our humble brand on a sustainable financial basis of profitable growth while expanding opportunities and providing a livable wage for our employees. In short, we want to grow but we don’t want to be big. It is only through growth that our positive message and programs can continue to grow.

 


Upwords® Environmental Mission Statement


We say green is good, not greed. Our goal here is simple, keep it real…real green. From organic cotton to water based inks we will do everything in our power to promote an environmental friendly brand initiative that supports the creation of sustainable apparel. Simply put, we like doing stuff in the outdoors and we couldn’t sleep at night if we were creating goods that messed things up. Like our shirt says “Don’t blow it, good planets are hard to find.”

 


Upwords® Social Mission Statement.


Party! Party! Party! Just kidding, we like to be social as much as the rest but that’s not really what our goal is. Our goal is to act in way that places Upwords in a position to have a positive impact on people’s lives, be it through our messages or our actions in the community. To treat our employees just like we treat ourselves. That one’s a no brainer. In addition, utilize vendors in the United States who also share our social philosophy. In other words no sweatshops…ever.
